Frequently asked questions
-
We don’t. The first meeting is a chance to talk through your ideas and explore whether we’re the right fit for each other. It’s an open conversation where you can ask questions and get a clear sense of how we work, before any commitments are made.
There’s no obligation to continue or instruct us, it provides an opportunity for you to find out how we work and what we would recommend for your project.
-
Our fees are tailored to each project and discussed openly during the consultation. Sometimes they are fixed, other times calculated as a percentage of the construction cost. Each stage is charged individually, so costs remain transparent throughout.
We invest significant time in developing one-of-a-kind designs that are well resolved and require minimal revision. This ensures your project runs smoothly and delivers the quality you expect. Our clients look to us for exceptional service and lasting value, and many of those relationships have become long-standing friendships.
-
We take on projects where there’s a good alignment between your vision and our way of working. Most of our work involves complete homes or major renovations, rather than single rooms or small extensions. That said, if a smaller project has the right ambition or design challenge, we’re always open to the conversation.
-
Yes. We see architecture and interiors as inseparable. From the first sketches to the final details, we design the whole home as one cohesive experience. This means the flow of spaces, the choice of materials, and the crafted details all work together to reflect how you live.
-
We’re most often asked to design full renovations, retrofits, and new homes. These allow us to bring the greatest value through detail, craft, and whole-home thinking. If your project is ambitious, design-led, and you’re looking for a collaborative process, we’d be glad to talk.
-
A little preparation helps you get the most from your consultation. When you book, we’ll ask a few questions about your home, your ideas, and what you’d like to achieve. Gathering any thoughts, references, or priorities in advance will make our first conversation more focused and valuable for you.
-
Your consultation will always be with an RIBA Chartered Architect. This ensures your ideas are understood from the outset and that you receive clear, practical advice to set your project on the right path.
-
We’ll talk through your ideas, your site, and the possibilities for your home. Together we’ll look at planning considerations, opportunities, and any constraints. From there, we’ll outline an initial strategy so you leave the meeting with a clear sense of what’s possible and how to move forward with confidence.
